We shall also have chickens for sale in Tavistock, Devon. My sister has decided she would like to expand Wylye Valley Chickens further into the West Country, so all the breeds we breed are also available by order and the majority on demand in Tavistock, Devon. The pullets are bred in here at  Wylye Valley Chickens (Salisbury) but then travel down and grow up on the edge of Dartmoor at Wylye Valley Chickens (Tavistock).  They are reared and cared for to the same exacting standards as here.

Many of the breeds are for sale from 8 weeks of age.  At this age we can tell girls and boys apart in many of the breeds.  Some breeds are special and need to stay until they are 12 weeks old before we can be sure who is a girl. At 8 weeks they are too young to go with adult chickens and need separate accommodation.  By 12 weeks they are old enough to cope with the introduction.

There is a waiting list for some breeds and the popularity of the breeds vary every year and I am not yet sure which is the most fashionable chicken breed this year !

All the breeds are the same price, whether they lay blue eggs, brown eggs, white eggs or tinted eggs, or are fat, skinny, traditional or funky. This makes choosing your new hens even more exciting!

We do have a few 10 month old chickens currently for sale they are £25 each. We have a number of breed available such as Light Sussex, White Cochin,  Lavender Pekins,  Wyandottes, krienkoppe, Fayoumi.
