Spring is here and the weather is currently wonderful ! It is a great time to get chickens for the first time or just add a few to your collection. All the pullets we have for sale are just coming into lay and ready to go. We still have a good selection of pullets for sale. Please see the breed page for more information on the breeds.

This is a list of birds we currently have for sale, (16th March 2012)

Large fowl - Araucana (black, red), Buff Sussex, Cochins (blue or white), Buff Orpington. Kraienkoppe, Fayoumi (gold pencilled), Silkies (white) and Welsummer

Bantam - Pekins (buff, white, black and lavender), Barbu d’uccle (mille fleur), Rhode Island Red, Welsummer, Wyandotte (black, and barred)

As spring has sprung, we have our first lot of eggs in the incubator for this years breeding season. We hope, so long as everything goes well to have growers for sale from early May. So if you are not ready yet or we do not have what you want it will not be long before we have the breeds you are looking for.

Please feel free to contact us to arrange to have a look at the pullets we have for sale currently or of course look at our breeding stock.

Once we have had a successful first hatch, I will start a waiting list (at end of March) for the growers I hope to have for sale in early May.

About us

We have been breeding chickens for eight years and have over 27 different traditional breeds of chicken for sale. It is a hobby that requires a lot of work at certain times of the year and obviously a continuous year round commitment. We only breed pure bred chickens, and all are grass reared in large paddocks, vaccinated and wormed. Although there are plenty of short cuts that can be taken, we try at great lengths to avoid them! Traditional and Rare breed chickens offer such variety of character, appearance, size and colour of both chicken and egg!

Many people who visit us arrive already with a lot of knowledge, gained either from experience or books and internet. Generally everyone is astounded by the variety of chickens we breed. Some people prefer layers and may not believe our hens are worth a visit. But, if I can persuade them to come and see our hens they usually appreciate the variety and quality that cannot be found in a hybrid. Some even take a couple of hens away with them to "jazz up" their current flock of chickens and make it a collection.
If you are not sure what rare breed of chicken you'd like, come and have a look and see them for yourself .

If you want some interesting and amusing pets to teach the children how to look after animals, a few hens at the bottom of the garden to ensure you have a fresh supply of free range eggs or you are keen on traditional breeds of poultry..... WE CAN HELP YOU!

We vaccinate against Mareks Disease, Infectious Bronchitis, Newcastle Disease, Avian Rhino-tracheitis and Egg Drop Syndrome (EDS),

We are able to supply you with any number of birds, eggs for your own incubation, day old chicks and growers through to fully grown Point Of Lay birds.

All livestock carries a 7 day guarantee, should anything happen to your birds within 7 days of purchase, we will replace (where possible) with a bird of the same breed, age and sex, (some exclusions do apply).

All birds over the age of six weeks are sexed to the best of our ability, however, due to the vagaries of nature, mistakes can happen and we will gladly replace mis-sexed birds within four weeks of purchase.
