Hello and Welcome. Schools have mostly broken up know and this is a great time to get some more chickens or start keeping chickens. We have a great selection of pullets for sale and plenty of advice if it is required
We have been very lucky this year with the weather the chickens like it dry and once it stopped being cold we have been pretty dry here which is lovely for the young pullets growing up, not so good for the crops but we cannot have it all!

We have now finished hatching for the year so all the hens are out in large grass pens on their holidays. They come back inside in January, by then they appreciate the dry barn once again.

The best thing you can do is come and have a look at our birds and choose the ones you like. Unless of course, if you know exactly what you would like then just order and come and collect. A lot of the of the breeds are available but for some there is still a waiting list.

A lot of the breeds can be sold from 8 weeks old (as sexed pullets). At this age they are small but easy to look after and even easier to tame. All you have to do is feed and look after them and they will love you for it! We also have older pullets for sale now too.

About us

We have breeding chickens for six years and have over 27 different traditional breeds of chicken for sale. It is a hobby that requires a lot of work at certain times of the year and obviously a year round commitment. The only chicken we breed are pure bred chickens which are all grass reared in large paddocks, vaccinated and wormed. When you do this it takes a lot of commitment as there are plenty of short cuts which can be taken but I try at great lengths to avoid them! Traditional and Rare breed chickens offer such variety of character, appearance, size and colour of both chicken and egg!

The majority of people arrive already with a lot of knowledge, gained either from experience, or book and internet. Generally everyone is astounded by the variety of chickens we breed. Some people just like layers so they do not believe our hens are not worth it. But, if I can persuade them to come and see our hens they appreciate the variety and quality that cannot be found in a hybrid. Some even take a couple of hens away with them to "jazz up" their current flock of chickens and make it a collection !

All livestock carries a 7 day guarantee, should anything happen to your birds within 7 days of purchase, we will replace (where possible) with a bird of the same breed, age and sex, (some exclusions do apply)

All birds over the age of six weeks are sexed to the best of our ability, however, due to the vagaries of nature, mistakes can happen and we will gladly replace mis-sexed birds within four weeks of purchase.
